Our CEO Davida Siwisa James created The High Desert Book Festival in 2016 as a way to add to the cultural and literary awareness of the Mojave High Desert Community. We are proud, in this our fifth year to be returning to Hesperia Civic Plaza Park again and to be co-sponsored by Hesperia Recreation and Park District… and the City of Hesperia.
Our first 2016 festival was held as part of the City of Victorville’s Annual Fall Festival on Civic Drive on October 1, It was our honor to gain the city’s support. They gave us a large dedicated area and it was a rousing success.
In 2017, we were welcomed back and had accepted registration from authors and booked presenters for participation in the same Victorville Fall Festival. Unfortunately, circumstances caused us to cancel.
Our 2018 High Desert Book Festival was a much smaller event, held at the Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce. Again, a successful event.
We were delighted to once again be back in the great outdoors with Hesperia Civic Plaza Park as our new home venue for 2019 and again in 2020. Our cosponsors Hesperia Recreation & Park District and the City of Hesperia are great partners.
